Dr. Zachary Short earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 2006. Shortly after graduation, he joined Insights Optical as a partner and has since dedicated his career to delivering exceptional, full-scope eye care.
Dr. Short is board certified in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and serves as a co-managing physician for both cataract and laser vision correction surgeries. He is also an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Indiana Optometric Association.
Deeply committed to improving his patients’ quality of life, Dr. Short has a particular interest in the treatment of dry eye disease. He continually researches and adopts emerging technologies to ensure his patients receive the most effective, cutting-edge care available. Known for his compassionate approach and focus on building long-term patient relationships, Dr. Short creates a welcoming environment where every individual feels valued and well taken care of.
A proud Bloomington native, Dr. Short graduated from Bloomington High School South in 1999, where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He remains deeply engaged in his local community, sponsoring and coaching youth sports and participating in the Bloomington, Mitchell, and Ellettsville Chambers of Commerce.
Dr. Short currently resides in Ellettsville with his wife, Heather, and their three children Carter, Ella, and Audrey. Outside the clinic, he enjoys golfing and spending quality time with his family and friends
